Orientation and Information Service

LMD system:

LMD is a superior training system advocating:

An architecture of studies in 3 grades:

Structured content in domains with standard courses and individualized courses..

Organization of semester andTeaching units courses (Capitalizable Teaching Units).

The different types of teaching units (TU):

In general, any training offer contains four main categories of TU arranged in a coherent pedagogical way:

- Basic/FundamentalTeaching Units (FTU):  corresponding to the courses that all students must follow and validate.

- Methodological Teaching Unit (MTU): &nbspallowing the student to gain autonomy in the work.

- Discovery Teaching Unit(DTU):&nbspallowing deepening, orientation, bridges, professionalization ...

- Transversal Teaching Unit (TTU): (UET): teaching intended to give tools to the students: language, computer science tools, ...

What is a credit:
There are two types of courses:

The Teaching units and their constituent subjects are measured in credits. A credit corresponds to the workload (course, internship, memory, personal work) required for the student to achieve the objectives of the teaching unit or subject.

A credit is equivalent to an hourly volume of 20 to 25 hours per semester including the hours of instruction provided to the student by all forms of education and the student's personal working hours.

Each semester has 30 credits. Each degree corresponds to the capitalization of:

  • 180 credits for the License
  • 120 additional credits for the Master
  • The doctorate is obtained after 6 semesters of studies and research

Teaching courses:
There are two types of courses:

The typical course is a coherent combination of Teaching Units constituting a study course defined by the training team and presented in the training offer. It is organized in such a way as to enable the student to progressively develop his training project.

- The individualized path: each student can build an "individualized" path with the help and follow-up of one or more training teams within one or more higher education institutions.

Academic or professional course:
The two academic and professional paths will have to be based on the same common core in the first year. They differ from the third semester (S3) or the general organization scheme of teaching in License clearly shows.

The difference between Academic and Professional degrees lies in the purpose of each of these two degrees. Both can be represented by a cone or ':

- The cone of the Professional License is completed. It allows an orientation towards the active life.

- The cone of the academic license is not yet completed, which opens the way towards studies of Master.)
